TEAM SCANDLINES - ATLANTIC ROWING RACE 2005

Team Scandlines is the first 100% Danish team in the world’s hardest and longest rowing competition- the Atlantic Rowing Race. Rowers Søren Sprogøe and Christian Petersen, who have been preparing for this race for many months, have both won gold in Denmark’s National Championship in Long-Distance Rowing.
Søren and Christian will be competing in the fourth running of the Woodvale Atlantic Rowing Race, which was launched in 1997. Along with 50 other rowing boats, they will push off from La Gomera on November 27, 2005. From the Canary Islands, they will row 5000 km of Atlantic Ocean before making landfall at Antigua in the West Indies.

Our boat TeamScandlineshas been sold to Lise Kronborg and Allan Lyngholm - TEAM adventurerowing.dk. Lise and Allan plans to cross the Indian Ocean in the boat. The team is currently in the preliminary phase and are working on getting a main sponsor. November 30th 2005: The Atlantic Rowing Race starts at 12:05 GMT.

November 27th 2005: The start of the Atlantic Rowing Race has been postponed three days due to a developing tropical storm to the south of the Canary Islands. The La Gomera Cup race is held instead- and Christian and Søren win their class, and place second overall.

November 17th 2005: Ten days until the start.

October 31st 2005: Meeting with sailor Jan Møller to discuss route planning.
